Tropical weather discussion for the eastern Pacific Ocean from 
the Equator to 32n...east of 140w. 
Based on 1800 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through 
2100 UTC.

ITCZ axis is centered from 09n84w to 14n104w to 11n116w to 
12n126w to 09n140w. Numerous moderate isolated strong convection 
is located from 10n to 18n between 87w and 109w. Isolated 
moderate convection is located within 120 nm S of axis between 
125w and 128w and W of 138w.

water vapor imagery indicates strong subsidence over most of the 
area W of 120w. A sharp middle/upper level trough axis is 
located through 32n128w to beyond 28n140w. This feature is 
forecast to move N over the next couple of days with 
southwesterly to westerly winds located NW of a line from 
northern Baja California to 28n130w to 20n140w. An upper level 
ridge will become oriented along 20n/21n W of 120w. Weak 
middle/upper level cyclonic circulations are located near 
23n126w and 18n133w. At the surface southerly swells to 10 feet 
are located over the deep tropics S of about 13n.
E of 120w...
a large middle/upper level anticyclonic circulation is centered 
off the southern coast of Baja California and is forecast to 
move little over the next two days. Westerly winds aloft are 
located N of about 22n E of 120w into Mexico and easterly to 
northeasterly flow extends S of 20n across the tropics to the 
Equator. Satellite cloud drift winds are as high as 35 kt S of 
10n E of 100w. A Quikscat pass at about 1230 UTC indicates S to 
SW winds over most of the Pacific E of 105w. A 1004 mb surface 
low is centered near 14.5n104w and is moving NW 5 to 10 kt.
